Innovation and Collaboration in the Fight against Human Trafficking

“Wanted: Partners: Innovation and Collaboration in the Fight against Human Trafficking”

    Speakers:

Mr. Herman Bolhaar, Chairman of the Dutch Public Prosecution Service (OM – College Procureurs-Generaal)
Dr. Jorrit de Jong, Lecturer, Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government

The Dutch Public Prosecution Service has embarked on a journey to find better ways to fight trafficking in human beings. The innovation process is not without challenges. In order to equip the next generation of public prosecutors with the skills to operate innovatively in an increasingly complex law enforcement environment, the Dutch Public Prosecution Service has adopted the Harvard Case method: a discussion based teaching method tailored to the learning objectives of professionals and executives.

At this event, Bolhaar, Prosecutor-in-Chief of the Netherlands and De Jong, Academic Director of the Innovations in Government Program at Harvard will facilitate a case-discussion about innovation in the fight against human trafficking. They will also reflect on the collaboration between practice and academia, especially through discussion based training and inquiry using the Harvard Case Method.
