The Harvard Club of the Netherlands is pleased to invite alumni to a private tour of part of the permanent collection of the Rijksmuseum by the museum's Curator of East Asian Art: 'Displaying Asian Art in the Rijksmuseum.'
According to its mission statement, the Rijksmuseum 'offers a representative overview of Dutch art and history'. Yet, it also houses an exquisite collection of Asian masterpieces. Curator Menno Fitski will take you on a tour through the highlights of the Asian Pavilion of the Rijksmuseum, and will discuss how Asian art fits into the context of the flagship national museum of the Netherlands.
About your Guide: Mr. Menno Fitski studied Japanese language and culture at Leiden University and has been Curator of East Asian art at the Rijksmuseum since 1997.
