Annual Send-off Reception for US-bound & returning students,
followed by Dr. Robin Stevens on “Risky Business: Social Media & Young Adults”
The board and member alumni clubs of Ivy Circle Netherlands invite all students starting at, currently attending, or returning from a U.S. college or university to join us for an informal send-off reception, followed by a talk/discussion. Parents/guests and U.S. alumni are also welcome.
When:
Wednesday June 27th from 17.30 until 20.30
17.30 – 19.00 Arrivals/Reception (drinks/snacks)
19.00 – 20.30 Talk/discussion: Risky Business: Social Media & Young Adults
Dr. Robin Stevens examines the relationship between new and traditional media and youth risk behavior, using digital epidemiology to investigate social media’s effects on substance use, sexual risk behavior and mental health.
Where:
Weesper, Weesperzijde 144, 1091 ET Amsterdam (the wine cellar, downstairs)
Cost: There is no charge for students and parents to attend the reception or talk/discussion. Other alumni and their guests are asked to contribute €15 per person, payable to Ivy Circle Netherlands IBAN: NL83 TRIO 0254 8413 09 (use your name as payment reference).

About the speaker:
Robin Stevens, PhD, MPH is Assistant Professor of Nursing at University of Pennsylvania’s School of Nursing and Director of the Health Equity & Media Lab. She is also Visiting Professor at the Center for AIDS Prevention Research at UC-San Francisco and Senior Fellow at the Penn Center for Public Health Initiatives. Dr. Stevens received her AB from Harvard College, MPH from University of Michigan and PhD from University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication.
